I've been playing with Blogger's new interface—and trying to remember my html. Hopefully, I've come up with a new design that's easy to navigate and equally easy on the eyes.

The Stanford Law & Policy Review is soliciting articles for an upcoming symposium on “Law and Adult Entertainment.” The Stanford Law & Policy Review is a well-respected academic journal at Stanford Law School that explores current issues at the nexus of law and public policy. For each issue we solicit articles from prominent practitioners, policy makers, professors, judges, lawyers, political leaders, regulators, economists, and other experts. Past contributors include President (then Governor) Bill Clinton, Senator John McCain, and Governor Jeb Bush.

Submissions may cover any subject that fits within the symposium topic’s broad framework. The symposium is focused on legal issues unique to the adult entertainment industry, especially those that legal scholarship does not commonly address.

We are particularly interested in including the following topics in the “Law and Adult Entertainment” symposium, but this list is not exhaustive:

- Labor unions and the pornography industry
- Politics and pornography regulation
- Obscenity law (enforcement, potential improvements, current challenges)
- Mental health issues (freedom of contract vs. exploitation)

We will accept article submissions until August 1, 2011. Articles should be between ten and forty double-spaced pages, not including footnotes and citations.

God. I loved 'Kiss My Ass' and I'd hoped that at best, this collection would be more of the same. But it's not.

I didn't realise it was a table-turner - mostly - with the women on the controlling end. And oh, it's so good. It surpasses its predecessor. I read it one quick swallow, but at the end of each story I almost didn't want to keep reading, because each one is its own little gem, even though they all fit so well together.

I'd like to give an example of the clever, delicious, funny, perfect writing Kristina Lloyd uses in 'Dark Side of the Moon' but in the end, there are just too many to choose from. It's a gorgeous story, funny and poignant, and full of domestic intimacy. I think this one is the stand-out, because it's so different in style and in a way, content. But it brings a lot to the collection.

Alison Tyler's story is - hee, it's so dirty and empowered and has such a sense of fun - it's exactly as it should be, really.

Jax Barnard's 'Night at the Rodeo is a surprise - with delightful dialogue and well built, appealing characters. A really nice, interesting inclusion in the collection.

Sophia Valenti's 'Power Play' fits the collection snugly, with just the same amount of heat. Her characters are likeable and the action is real, and detailed.

And Sommer's 'Sneaking in the Backdoor' is probably the most romantic anal sex story you'll ever read. Beautiful.

I absolutely love this, and I hope at some point both (and hopefully more) will come out together in print. Nice work, guys. Now, more!

I've spent part of the new year so far talking with a girlfriend of mine. I worked a bit on a story today. I'm only a few hundred words in, but the path seems a lot clearer than it did a few days ago. The vague sort of snapshots I'd had floating in my head hadn't been connecting until this afternoon.

I usually don't think much about process. Normally, I simply pop in my headphones, tune out the world and just go for it. But I've realized I do need to know a little about my people before they start working for me—to gather some notion of their personality, even if the ideas I come up with never make it into the finished piece.
